Heron School Campus

Our schoolhouse has several unique classrooms (traditional lecture, seminar, and versatile learning), a dining area, a kid’s kitchen, an activity room, a sensory room, a sun porch library, a commercial kitchen, a laundry room, three apartment rooms - each with their own bathroom, two outdoor patios, greenspace for outdoor learning and play, and an office for our faculty and staff. Our goal is to make our academic and social learning spaces as comfortable as possible and to help our students feel at home in the classroom.

Farm to Table activities (or Farm to School in our case) can help students develop a positive relationship with healthy food and the landscape around them. Students can participate in a fall garden class, a winter/spring greehouse class, and/or a cooking class to learn how to grow and prepare food and flowers on our campus.

the red barn makerspace & artspace

Our red barn is home to a both a makerspace and an art studio. Students have access to a variety of supplies and tools to reinforce our commitment to project-based learning.

the public lands that surround us

Moab is the gateway community to two national parks (Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park), two state parks (Dead Horse Point and Raptor State Park), the Manti-La Sal National Forest, Sand Flats Recreation Area (home of the Slickrock Bike Trail), public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, and a beautiful stretch of the Colorado River. Our public lands provide our students an incredible outdoor classroom as well as a place for us all to recreate, relax, and recharge.
